LigBank^® Membership terms and conditions

6 months FREE! - We are currently offering six months free membership to new and existing members.

By using LigBank you are deemed to have agreed to all of the conditions of membership stated below:

1. Membership is granted on an individual basis, but if you lead a research group (you are a 'group leader') you can invite members of your research group ('group members') to join LigBank FREE.
2. Group members are assumed to be publishing information on behalf of their group leader, who is automatically granted co-authorship of any works they submit.
3. Members must own the intellectual rights to any material they submit, and all ligands registered must be new to science.
4. Ligand and reaction data added by members contribute to a personal electronic publication record. This record can be accessed by all members and the general public.
5. After submission members cannot change ligand or reaction data directly. If you realise an error has been made, you should inform LigBank immediately.
6. LigBank editorial staff reserve the right to deny publication of any submission if they feel that the standard of work or presentation is not adequate.
7. LigBank reserves the right to edit or remove entries in the database. Changes will be time-stamped, and transactions after that time will be assumed to have occurred in full knowledge of any change.
8. Members undertake to inform LigBank (through the contact page) immediately if they suspect that anyone is misusing the system.
9. LigBank reserves the right to withdraw membership on an individual or group basis.
10. LigBank reserves the right to make changes to membership terms and conditions. Any changes will be detailed on the members' news page, and will normally only occur after a period of consultation with membership.
11. Membership is on a subscription basis, and currently costs 30€ per year. Please note that as a member you will be able to offer free membership to students and research officers in your research group ('group members').
12. The system will automatically prompt you for payment towards the end of your current subscription period. If you decline payment, further access will be blocked, and LigBank reserves the right to edit/remove your entries if required.
13. Repeated re-registration by the same group head to create different accounts will be taken as abuse of the system and may lead to exclusion of the organisation as a whole.

Privacy statement

Details registered with LigBank will be held in electronic form. LigBank may contact you through the email address you provide as required. These conditions are necessary for an account to be established, and if you do not agree to them you should not proceed with a membership application.

Your email address may be disclosed to members logged into the LigBank website; otherwise LigBank will endeavour to maintain your right to privacy.

Important security notes

1. Purchases on LigBank are made using a third party settlement system (PayPal®), which guarantees the security of financial transactions. LigBank requests no financial details, nor do we hold any such details online. Any request for credit card or similar details purporting to come from us should be considered fraudulent, and reported to the proper authorities.
2. Do not use the same password for LigBank as you use for any sensitive (e.g. financial) transactions.
